Hi, I’m Martha

Welcome to Intentional Resilience Counseling!

INTENTIONAL:

Rooted in acceptance. The skill to be right here, right now. Actively. With purpose. Building towards your truest, fullest self.

RESILIENCE:

A deep, resonant strength. Resilience is earned in the deepest, darkest challenges of our lives. And, we can persevere.

I have over 10 years of experience in the mental health field.

I began my career at psychiatric hospitals providing direct patient care at inpatient, residential and partial hospitalization programs. I enjoyed working with diverse populations of varying needs, ages and goals. I am skilled at creating safety and working in a solution-focused model.

During grad school I focused on infancy, early childhood and parenting. In my early licensure I specialized in child and family therapy at a community mental health agency. These experiences grounded my approach in respect for systems and a deep appreciation for the importance of play.

As I have built my own practice I have honed a passion for supporting adults as they navigate this wild world. I am passionate about making and raising humans. That leads me towards parents, trying-to-be parents and the individual adult as they care for and nurture themselves. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, self-esteem, adjustment, identity, perinatal support (pregnancy, postpartum), parenting, trauma, grief, relationship challenges and life transitions. I am passionate about exploring identity, processing and integrating traumatic experiences, supporting effective coping and connecting to purpose. I am a trauma-informed, LGBTQIA+ affirming, existential clinician.

I am passionate about my work and I am passionate about my family. My toddler was diagnosed as an infant with leukemia. Being a mother to a child with critical illness has bolstered my own resilience. This experience forced me to take all my tools and apply them, with consistency and intention. I have coped by creating as much routine as possible and, with effort, apply flexibility. I have worked to communicate clearly and assertively. To advocate. To resource my support system and lean on my marriage. To sing and play and constantly talk it through as I orient my tiny human towards adapting to and owning her own existence.

I love spending time with my family, cuddling my pets and listening to a constant stream of audiobooks. I recharge in nature and enjoy exploring, especially when it involves hot springs.

Reaching out to a therapist is a courageous and vulnerable experience. It is with gratitude that I am here to support determining if working together is the right fit.

Please reach out to schedule a 15 minute consult to see if our paths align.
